welcome to the portmarnock 5k beach race 2026

Race Details

This year we will have three races:

Kids Colour-Dash starts at 6pm

Open to all runners age 8 and under only. Free to enter (although a donation would be appreciated). Sign up on the night at ’the shelters’ on Portmarnock Beach.

Juvenile 2km Race starts at 6.30pm

Open to runners aged 9 to 15 (age on day of race). Race entry costs €7.50 plus booking fee. Register here. Please note you must register in advance for this race. You will not be able to sign up on the day of the race.

Senior 5K race starts at 7pm

Race entry costs €25 plus booking fee. Register here. Free t-shirt for first 500 people to register for senior race!

Juvenile 2km Race instructions

All juvenile runners must register in advance. There is no sign-up on the day of the race.

All runners will be issued a race number. You must have a race number to compete. You can collect your number on the night, or opt to pay for postage when registering online.

Number pick-up opens at 5PM.

Please follow the instructions of the race marshals at all times.

Seniors Race instructions

The Seniors Race starts at 7pm sharp. You must be registered and have a race number to compete. You can collect your number on the night, or opt to pay for postage when registering online.

Registration desk

Race number & tee-shirt pick up opens 5pm

Already have your number? You're good to go! Just pin it to your t-shirt before the race.

Late Entry

There may be a limited number of numbers available on the day of the race. Any late entry numbers will be available at the Registration Desk for €25 (no T-shirt).

Senior Race Prizes

• 1st place male / female -€150 each
• 2nd place male / female - €100 each
• 3rd place male / female - €50 each
• Placed Senior (aged. 40+)
• 1st place male / female - €50 Lidl voucher

Bag Drop

A bag drop facility will be available on the beach under "the shelters" opens at 5.30pm and closes at 8.30pm sharp. Race number must be shown to leave/collect bags, small bags only please.

Race Parking

Pay parking is available at White Sands. Limited free parking is available at the Beach Carpark located beside the Golf Links Hotel. Please follow the instructions of the parking marshals. We can not guarantee parking spaces for everybody, so please come early to get your spot.

Toilets

Public toilet facilities are available on the Beach.
